Right. The RAW image comes only after the camera has processed your ISO, exposure setting, and WB setting. I think if you screw those up too badly you won't be able to do much in RAW either.

True about the exposure, but you can shoot any WB setting and have complete correction capability with a RAW file.  Getting the exposure right when taking the shot is the most important aspect of shooting relative to image quality.
