Re: Are mirrorless cameras are really toy cameras?

Interesting.. I took my X-E1 out yesterday, it stayed in the bag while I used my other mirrorless, a Fujica GW690. I took my X-E1 out today, it stayed in the bag while I used a Nikon FM2n SLR. Maybe tomorrow, the toy will come out of the bag

I'm far more comfortable with traditional shutter speed and aperture controls and all three of these cameras have them, so that's the commonality. Maybe the future is more diverse than we currently imagine and there will be something for everyone from every manufacturer.

Edit: Also think that we're far too hung up on "FF" as the gold standard. Why isn't it MF or LF? May I turn up my nose at a 5DIII because the sensor is, well, a bit meagre for 'serious' photography?
