I was able to try the 55-250IS and thought the image quality was quite good, but the AF was a bit slower than I'd like. It'd be good for static shots, but I was not sure about tracking jets. I may be wrong, but it seemed so much slower than the 70-200

I still like your birds, and you have convinced me that maybe I should be looking at feathered fliers as well as metal, so next fine weekend I'm going to head out and see what I can find
