if I lived in the same cold climate as you, I would be looking at the Pentax K-30/50, or K-5/5II Specifications for use in freezing temperatures.

Exactly Larry,

Not just battery life but also resistance is importand. Pentax higher range K´s are great for this. I also ike that adapter, which is possible to attach AA batteries. There were occassions, where i was used my one batter of quickly . And no shot  was possible during the "main event" well, those days i was depending on a single battery, but with such adapter, any village grocer would be helpfull, where AA batteries could be provided.

And K-50 would help me it seems the best way.., it will make K-30´s price lower (I hope) it only has a buble shape, and colorfull kit lens, no significant upgrade over K-30 I think.

Well maybe I should program my mind "Camera for fotos, Video recorder for video !!!"  as somehow... Gosh its hard , is not it ?

ps: by the way any news about possible olympus DSLR ? nooone mentione anymore, seems noone expecting either !
