The X Vario is not better than the D-Lux-6

See my post here implicitly comparing the Light Levels on the sensor:

Same efficiency per sensor area assumed, the Leica X-Vario is slightly more Lowlight-able than the Leica-D-Lux-6, but if you add the antishake of the D-Lux-6, the D-Lux-6 is more lowlight-able than the X-Vario.

DOF characteristics are also roughly equal.

And the lenses are both Leica-branded.

Leica really should have made a brighter lens for the X Vario, perhaps with less zoom, for example exclude the Focal length of the X2 so using both cameras ( X2 + X-Vario ) adds benefit.
