WX300 - Can I turn off preview after each shot?

WX300 is my first Sony.  I'm very pleased with the small size, it being smaller than a Canon S100 which I find quite remarkable.  Other than that I got pretty much what I expected from a small sensor, high MP, slow lensed super zoom - which is barely adequate IQ as long as your subject largely fills the frame or you reduce the size considerably.

I knew this going in, so really no problem, I simply shoot at 5mp for the most part and sometimes reduce even further to get a reasonably sharp shot.  It's main purpose will be to zoom in to architectural details and do macro while traveling, my Canon G1-X will handle everything else.  Since the WX300 is so incredibly small carrying both will be no problem at all.

Anyway, my problem is that I cannot find a way to shut off the approx. 2 sec preview after each shot.  I had a pack of young foxes playing in my back yard this morning and it was hard enough to find them and shoot under zoom let alone bump up against that darned preview lag between shots.  I could have gotten a lot more shots and subsequently more keepers without it.  And yes, I realize a slight press on the shutter cancels the preview but this is not exactly a precise thing when under shooting stress!   So, can I shut it off somehow?   I can with every other camera I have used in the past 10 years.
