I'm curious what people think we really gain from a touchscreen interface on a camera? Touch to select the focus point, I'll grant that one. What else could not be done with physical buttons?

90% of my shots are with my camera sitting on my monopod.

I shoot all types of events in this manner. And I don't always usemy D7100's viewfinder.

I have learned where my camera is pointing regardless how high, low, I hold it on my monopod.

Two difficulties that I encounter while shooting my D7100 in this manner are:

1) Light going into the viewfinder when shooting away from my eye. ( at times I have to shoot fast and placing the viewfinder cover on and off is not workable, most times I use my left thumb to cover it). This incoming light into the uncovered VF can mess up your exposures.

The D7100 is too slow in Live View for my purposes so I shoot in standard mode, PDAF.

2) Having to use top of the camera controls to change settings.

Sometimes my monopod is extended and I have to bring the camera down to set/adjust things. This is awkward and can trip people walking by, etc.

Enter the NX and its Touchscreen and EVF.

It will immediately solve both problems for me ( and provide me PDAF ):

No more backflow VF light to worry about.

No more having to get to the top of my camera, everthing is on the LCD.

Botton line: I am looking forward to this NX Touchsceen!

P.S. Still can't find software to open NX RAW samples. (the LR beta was not available).
