Don't let higher ISO keep you from shooting birds & wildlife.  If you learn to process RAW images (like with Lightroom), you can use ISO-800 and even ISO-1600 and still get acceptable results.  The key to keeping noise to a minimum is to nail the exposure and look for even lighting.  I even use ISO-3200 in a pinch.
