Just my 2 cents, but I totally agree with pelo991 when it comes to product photography, which I've been doing for the last 4 years, it comes down to technique and knowing how to use your camera. If you don't understand the fundamentals of your camera i.e. focal length, aperture, or ISO speed it doesn't matter if your using a D600, D800 or a medium format Hasselblad.

After 4 years of product photography (in photo studio, and off site photo shoots), lighting in particular, i can honestly say my photography is print quality. My 1st 2 year of photography is crap compared to what i can produce now. In my opinion I'd suggest looking at contacting a professional product photographer for your product shots. Just so you can see the actual photo shooting process.
