Strange

The "rules" are:
If set to File Numbering Continuous, the SD14/15 remembers the last number; let's call it #1000.
- insert a empty CF card, and the next picture will be #1001
- OR insert a card with highest number = #879 (=lower than #1000), and the next picture will still be *1001
- OR insert a card with highest number = #1287 (=higher than #1000), and the next picture will be *1288

If camera is set to File Numbering Auto Reset,
- insert a empty CF card, and the next picture will be #0001
- OR insert a card with highest number = #1287 and the next picture will be #1288
- OR insert a card with highest number = #879, and the next picture will be #880

Try:

  1. Switch to Auto reset
  2. Turn off camera
  3. Delete all pictures on the card
  4. Insert the card
  5. Turn on camera
  6. Take a picture (should be #001)
  7. Switch to Continous
  8. Turn off camera
  9. Turn on camera
  10. Take pictures (should be #002)

You are right!!!!  This process worked!!

Thank you so much!
