Editing pictures on a 13" MacBook Air?

I'm thinking of buying the new 2013 13" MacBook Air. I do plan on getting it with 8GB of RAM. It does seem like a very powerful machine and combine that with amazing battery life, this is exactly what I'm looking for use while travelling. My only issue is that the MacBook Air is only using a TN screen rather than an IPS display. Assuming I use a high quality display calibrator (X-Rite or Spyder), will I be able to get the display to be accurate enough to work with? I want my colours to be accurate so that it'll look the same as if I was using an IPS display at home. The last thing I want is to waste my time developing my photos on the MacBook Air only to find out it's off because of the laptop's screen.
