I think that it would be really great if everyone had access to something easy to make, like maybe using a right-angle as a base and working toward the point of a triangle. That way, you know everyone can replicate a straight-edge and make a tool with nails and wire or something. I don't know, but it sure would be nice to compare camera to camera for those that care.

It would definitely be interesting to have an agreed upon method of evaluating cameras...  Too many variables I suppose.

For me, I'm fine with the incredible machine that is the D800E. If mine or anyone else's has some minor defect, I'm quite sure it can be overcome and for its intended use the D800E is perfect.

On some level I feel like I'm embarking on an ocd odyssey of nitpicking and forum paranoia here.  How many exchanges will it take to stop my descent into pixel peeping madness?  And then, what if I get a body with rock solid focus but it has the green tint screen?  Obviously there's no such thing as a perfect camera, but I wish I didn't have to live with occasional autofocus errors when the sensor is so detailed...
