The only NEX lenses that have corner issues on the NEX-7 are the cheap kit lenses and the pancake lenses. Spin that any way you like!

The editor mentioned specifically that the NEX 30mm macro also had issues. It is neither cheap, nor kit, nor pancake.

Lenses developed either for and after the NEX 7 (SEL35, SEL50) or with the intent of minimizing light angle issues (SEL24Z) work fine. Lenses developed before the NEX7 (SEL1855, SEL16, legacy rangefinder) or with no intent of being used on the NEX7 (SELP1655) have issues. I believe Zeiss has, like always, made corner performance a central design criteria (including recognizing potential issues with oblique light on digital sensors), hence why their lenses all work fine.

Just my take on why some lenses work well and others don't. Certainly you can make a lens that works great on this sensor. Zeiss have. Plenty of great lenses don't work well, also. So it's really a matter of combinations that work. Pick lenses that work on the body, or pick a body that works well with lenses you like. Ultimately, if you can't take at least some darn good pictures with any of the mentioned equipment, the delinquency is behind the camera, not in front of it.
