When I examine the DXOMark comparisons I am Impressed. I would take the 18-35 over the older 16-35 . . .especially at 35mm. Wow. Then it does a job on the famed, and flare prone, 14-24 at 24mm. Quite a bargain. I suspect it will be a favorite of many! 18-35 is a wonderful range for landscapers and others.

The only real negative is no VR. But at less than 1/2 the weight, maybe that's not so bad.
