The best way to decide is to look at the many sample images from each lens.

For me generally speaking Zeiss lenses really add a nice pop and have richer and warmer colour and the subject tends to pop out more almost 3D like. They can make an ordinary scene look interesting.

Video is far less demanding of a lens so you can use your Sony zoom for that where is excels with its power zoom. A zoom is very handy for video to make videos more interesting.

If you can afford the Zeiss I would go for that. The examples I have seen with this lens are terrific and it gets regular rave reviews.

The other competing lens now is the Zeiss 32mm Touit. It would be more about which of these 2 would be better. The 24mm is the better more used focal length as its 36mm in full frame terms which is a very useable focal length.
