Hello,
Just got myself an NX1000. This will be my first real venture into photography. I am about 10 years removed from a Photography class in High school where we actually shot film and developed(all black and white). Somewhere in my mind is rules for good composition and all the basics, looking to brush up on all that. Taken a few shots walking around Santa Monica, been shooting raw and playing with Lightroom for processing.

Also some of my car after a good wash and wax today:

Browsing through postings here really helped me make up my mind to get the camera as well as just today I read about the extension tubes for Macro, and i picked up a set on ebay for 50 bucks(now to wait for shipping from china!).
I also just purchased a 16mm pancake on ebay. It was 189, free shipping. Seemed like a REALLY good deal, marked as used but in perfect condition so I'm hoping to grabbed up a killer deal considering everywhere else lists it for in the high 300s. Everything I've seen for the 16mm is that its very good for street photos and nice for landscapes as well. I also obviously like the size of the lens. I did have a question about the 16mm for anyone who may know. Would it produce some nice results for some sports photography if you're relatively close up? Such as me playing Ice Hockey in the local adult league and my girlfriend shooting from the glass or bleachers. Seems like it would given the speed is there at f2.4.
I think the 16mm will be the only Samsung lens I get for a while. I figured it would be a nice lens to keep on the cam easy transport and pretty good for most situations. I want to get some older lenses with an adapter (I'll make sure they have an aperture ring). These can be more job specific, and MUCH cheaper. I've gleamed that I can even still shoot in aperture priority mode to get automatic shutter speeds and such, so I don't see too much of a negative here.
Anyway, look forward to future discussions here. This community is fantastic.
