14mm kit lens, worth it or not?

So I have this m-4/3 system, which is awesomely small, but it's stuck with a kit zoom that is definitely not small. I'm a bit strapped for cash, but I'd like to get this thing to a pocketable size. I'm seeing the 14mm for decent prices online, pulled from discontinued kits mostly, and I'm trying to decide whether it's even something that would benefit me.

So, those who've used this lens, what do you think? Is it too wide to be a good all around pocket shooter? I know, I know, I could set my zoom to 14mm and spend a couple days shooting exclusively at that focal length, but work is keeping me t too busy for much shooting, sadly.

Also, is it even moderately sharp? I can see it as a good option for its small size, extra aperture stop, and cheapness, but if the IQ isn't great, I might steer clear and just save my dough for something else.
