Re: What is the best X-Mount Lens for Landscape Photography

It depends on how you value bokeh and how the lenses handles sharp lights, like having the sun in the picture. I have the Fuji 18, 35 and 60mm lenses and none of them handles bright lights especially good, but all of them are super sharp with a grat bokhe, especially the 60mm. This is clearly something that Fuji has opted for, all these three lenses have rounded aperture blades making for a very smooth bokhe, but non of them can really make sunstars. Now this is something that boils down to taste, my self i really prefer 7-bladed straight apertures like old Nikons over the rounded ones that improves bokeh.

Ok, the light tele 60mm also doubles as a macro, in that case i would probably have taken the same decision as Fuji, its main purpose is clearly weighted for portraits and macro and in both those cases good bokeh is is a lot more imortant than how it behaves shooting into bright lights. But for the 18mm i would not have that decision, maybe not for the 35mm either.

I have no clue about the Zeiss one you mention, i just mentioned this as one aspect that is many times overlooked. I have made some tests using a studio strobe as "the sun" and compared how the Fujis handles bright lights, you find those shots in my gallery.
