That's an odd corollary. I don't even know how to respond.

We are all bound by limitations in art. Do you not use a finite amount of cameras and lenses? It's up to each of us to decide what those limitations are. For me, and a lot of others, I enjoy shooting a single, fast-ish prime lens in the 35mm-50mm range. You may prefer a set of f2.8 zooms from 16mm to 300mm, and that's fine by me. Each will influence our photography differently.

On a side note, one of my favorite photographers, Harry Gruyaert, switched from all primes to zooms a little while back, and I noticed a change in his work. Some may like it, others may not, but it can certainly lead to a different style.
