Is the D700 less prone to dust issues than the D600

I think this issue has been beat to death. but, I understand your concern. my 600 has had no noticeable spots yet. I rarely shot above f/8 tho. I only shoot raw and use grey cards when possible because I can pp with

to your question, IMHO all cameras are going to need sensor cleaning sooner or later. yes, nikon should have acknowledged, fixed, and offered service/exchange for a known issue. but if you look at their recent record, they are doing a screw job on everybody with all their products.

that said, I wouldn't send my cameras to nikon ever again for cleaning. they suck at it.
