Agreed! I use the 70-200 for head and shoulder portraits and the 17-55 for full-body and groups. Tough to beat this combination, though you really do pay for it.

Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 OS and 70-200 f/2.8 HSM II cuts the cost substantially, without sacrificing image quality (unless you're talking about the EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS II).
