I am going to purchase the 15-85 and the 10-22. I should be able to purchase both this summer. What would be a good telephoto lens to add that doesn't cost $2000.

If you want a tele-zoom, I think that the 70-200 f/4L IS would be an excellent complement to those two lenses. Currently going for around $1,150. Or if you don't need IS, you can get the non-IS version for around $650. Not quite as sharp as the IS version, but still very good.

+1.  I also own 70-200L/4.0 IS which is a very sharp zoom and very versatile.  70-300L maybe even a better option although it's not cheap but they all below $2000.  I'd suggest a tele-zoom over prime for versatility and having 'IS' that is pretty important in that focus length.
