One problem I have with the DP2M is that, at $800, you can get a used NEX-7 and a used Sigma 30/2.8 instead and come out even. The NEX+lens will be a tad thicker than the DP2M, but will perform much better in many respects. And, in the key one - resolution - the 24MP on the NEX-7 produce just about the same level of detail as the DP2M.

Still, there's nothing quite like viewing a Foveon image at 100%. If the DPM sensor had, say, 20mp of real resolution, there'd be no contest.

My brother has the NEX-7 w/ kit zoom plus Leica glass and after comparing it to my Sigma DP1M and DP2M, he went out and bought the DP1M for himself. He uses it like I use mine, as a companion to my X-E1 and kit zoom. The Fuji or Sony give great flexibility with very good IQ and the Sigma, incredible detail when desired.  They are very nice companions.
