Re: Macro lenses - how good is the 100L?

I started DSLR shooting with a pre-owned XTi and a bag of kit that included a Tokina AT-X 100mm Macro, and I did not fully appreciate the Tokina until I later bought my Canon 100L. To be clear, I love the 100L, because sometimes the weather-sealing and Hybrid IS are truly needed, and my 100L is virtually welded to one of the 7D cameras I use at work. On my other Canon cameras, especially a 5D, which has no weather-sealing, anyway, the Tokina performs wonderfully when I shoot flowers and such things. (Shooting flowers during my personal time is my antidote for the often-stressful evidentiary shooting I do at work.)
