As Clint Eastwood said--do you feel lucky. If you are a gambler do it.  Otherwise get a new one with a 5 year warranty from Nikon.

The Memorial Day sale from Nikon saw them priced about $550 under new with free shipping.  It was to me a "no brainer" with the warranty and return policy offered.  Not much of a gamble really!
