Cheap filters affect IQ. Premium filters are best.

Which leads me to believe you were using a cheap or poorly made filter.  If you use premium filters, you should not be able to easily discern the difference in IQ in all but very extreme cases.

If you ever try a filter and can immediately tell a difference in IQ, don't buy that filter because it's a rat.
