The d800 files are quite large! What are your computer specs?

Hi All,

This question is from an amature; but, here goes:

I'm trying out a trial version of PaintShop Pro x5.

I've found that it's copy, paste, and some other functions seem to be quite slow.  The other night while pasting to a new layer, I thought my computer actually locked up, but it finally finished.  I've not had any speed problems with any of my other programs.  I'm using D800 pictures.  I've tried converting them to 8 Mb JPEGs; but, the slowness persists.

Has anyone else noticed PSPx5 having some slow functions?  Could there be some settings that I need to change?

Only when you can criticize yourself, should you criticize others. Mikes.

Good point about the file size.

I experimented with some 8MB pictures from my old D80.  Then I tried the same experiment using some pictures from my D800.  There was a big difference in speed between the D80 and the D800 pics.  I don't actually have my computer specs handy; but, my D800 pictures wiz through my LR4, NX2, and Photo Mechanic programs with ease.

Thanks for the tip.  You are the reason I tried the experiment.
