Re: A Leica owner at last!

What a great story. I, too, had a camera guy in a little shop full of cameras and lenses I could not afford to buy. One day, though, on my lunch hour I walked by the shop as I did every day on my way to lunch and saw an old, battered, funny looking camera in the window with a sign that said "special price". For $80.00 I bought a Leica IIIc with a Summar 50mm f2 lens. The range finder was so dull and dark that it was best focused by using a zone system and small f-stop, which was OK because the Summar was so cloudy and scratched that contrast was almost non-existent at f2. I still have both but don't use them. I still take it out of its bag and exercise the shutter once in a while. There is nothing like the sound of the shutter in the screw mount Leicas. OK, enough nostalgia, back to work on RAW images from the might D3s and its mighty heavy long zooms.
