I managed some nice shots with my G12 but can't seem to get it right with the G15.

I set a custom WB using sunlit grass, then do the usual channel swap routine in Photoshop, but it just doesn't work. I use RAW but I've also tried JPGs

Images come out blue.

Seems like the WB isn't right to start with and nor is it right if I use Auto WB.

I'm using a Hoya R72.

Any advice?

The G12 has a CCD sensor and the G15's is a CMOS.  I suspect that the CMOS sensor (or its IR filter) has a different spectral response and is less sensitive to infra red, I don't have the response curves I'm afraid but maybe that's something you can research.  A different IR filter with a different cut off point may help but it might be that the G15 just isn't really suited to IR photography.  I'm sure there are some IR specialists out there that can probably advise.

Hopefully. I'd know for sure if there was a good IR photo taken on a G15 out there somewhere.

Perhaps of some help?

I did see that when I did a Google search a few days ago, but it only really says that the G15 is probably ok. I can definitely see IR with it, I think that maybe the WB setting is a bit different.

Still experimenting, so if I come up with a solution, I'll post

I wonder if perhaps you need something that cuts off the infra red at a longer wavelength to prevent visible light turning the image blue. Hoya make an RM90 which only passes IR longer than 900nm (720nm for the R72).  Anyway hope you manage to find a solution.
