Online buying involves a fair bit of gamble. Getting the stuff you order is one, the grey imports are the second, the warranties are on the third place. I no longer buy anything new on the Internet if the shop has no front window, learnt the hard way. Way too many crooks setting up the web pages...

No it doesn't require a fair bit of gamble, just a few minutes research.

1) Check the company details on their website.  Address is given, just not UK

2) Use google and see what others are saying

3) Do some form of "whois" lookup and find out who is the registrant.

4) If claiming to be a UK limited company check Companies House

From Digitaland's website:

We stock all your favourite and well-known electronic brands, covering a vast product base that ranges from small memory cards, to next generation tablets and high end photographic equipment.

Company Details and Address:
JF Global Trading Limited
Rm1004A, Yuen Fat Industrial Bldg,

Seems fairly straightforward to me.

Edit: just realised the dates on this thread  - don't know why it was showing high up on the list
