Hi Everyone!

i got my 6D a couple days ago and so far i really like it alot ,after the 450D i had .

everyone says  to shot raw ok  i see why so i did  but when i convert the images to jpeg its takes forever, i use canon's own software came with the camera.

my laptop has  a i5 cpu with 4 gig ROM  ,  should be enough to deal with the files no?

am i doing something wrong here if i have lightroom would it be faster?

thanks for advises!

It takes awhile and your computer is a bit under powered, especially in RAM.

However, you might consider a change in work flow. Shoot dual and do all your image culling with camera generated JPEGs and then process the keepers from RAW.

It's a risky strategy, since much of what you cull out from the in camera JPEG may be recoverable from the RAW so you'll have to resist deleting images.

But it could shorten your time to results, for now.

Besides when i hire out for sports events everything I shoot is sold as the in camera JPEG sized and cropped as shot.

So while RAW rules, there's a benefit to learning to live with zero post as well.
