Does it only take a couple of hours to learn all the basics of Photography?

I have no idea how long it would take to learn he basics of photography.  Could range from minutes to decades, depending on what you mean. Anyways, who cares?

Now, that is what matters.

What difference does it make if someone thinks it only takes a few hours to learn the basic concepts of photography and someone else thinks it takes about four months of dedicated study?

It has to do with what kind of camera is appopriate for that user.

The first would really be better off with a$200.00 point-n-shoot, the latter with an interchangeable lens camera with full manual controls.
