Flax!
4

No, not a new lens or anything else photographic...just a flower.

Flax plants have beautiful, smallish blue (with purple cast) flowers which are quite transitory and which are a tremendously difficult color for digital cameras to get exactly right.  They also seem to be a bit fussy about where they grow...

For the past three years I have planted some flax seeds in both the back and front flower beds, with ZERO plants to show for it.  This year I decided to not bother...so what happens?  There, in the middle of my front beds, are several lovely flax plants, blooming their fool heads off as of a couple of days ago!

So, this AM the sun was out and there were two fresh flowers on the plants, and I got out there with the EPM2 to see how it did.

Aside from the fact that LCDs are not the best way to frame your shots on bright days (my VF-4 is on order...can't WAIT for it to get here!), the end results were pretty darn good anyway.  The EPM2 does about the best with this difficult flower color of any digital camera I have yet used.  That is a pretty good compliment, in my book....

So, here are three shots.  All were from the JPGs with basic PP.  I'll experiment with the RAWs later when I get more time to play around with them.

First shot is with the Nikkor 55mm f3.5 macro, second two with 100-300mm with 16mm extension tube.
