Re: Sounds good but could be also "no new camara"

Nikon D600 is out in the lead at the current time and probably retails at way below what any Olympus DSLR will cost, should it ever materialise.

"Far below" seems a little unlikely.  About the same price seems more probable.

Yes I will have to invest in glass but looking at some of the crazily high prices for good quality second-hand Olympus lenses

Looking for decent lenses for the Canon 60D our daughter recently bought, I again appreciated the immense coverage and value of the 12-60 and 50-200, and also  the value of the used 150f2 I bought for $1500 and the mint 7-14 that cost me $1250.  Crazily high prices? In my experience - about 40 years, with Leicas and Nikons as well as Olympus - O lenses tend to be good to very good buys.

I reckon that with a bit of luck on ebay I will raise enough cash to go a long way towards purchasing Nikon replacements.

Depends what you are looking for...and how much weight you want to carry.  Always remember that the size&weight and cost of a camera body is only one -often minor part of that of the whole system
