Right now she's using a Canon G11.  We like the image quality and sensor size of the G11, but I'd like to get her something with more zoom while still creating great photos.

She'll be shooting stills mostly.  RAW isn't a necessity.  It'd be nice to have shutter and aperture priority, as well as manual, in case I borrow it.

I thought about the mirrorless cams, but she wants an all-in-one camera.

What would you suggest?

Are you sure it's for your wife?

'Cause if she really likes the G11, why not get her the G15? OK, it's 28-140mm 'only', but it gets very good reviews from pros and users. Fast lens, AF and performance; exposure dial and quick buttons; good (high ISO) IQ, full manual settings and RAW.

For pocketable zooms you could go for the Panasonic TZ40 @ 24-480mm, 20x optical & 40x digital zoom, which is also well reviewed and has manual settings. Just like the Canon SX280. Both have much slower lenses, no RAW and lower (high ISO) IQ and performance than the G15 though.

I would take her to a shop and let her try some cameras out.
