It is probably true for like 90% of people though; DSLR's are very cumbersome to use to document your daily life. Especially all the people just using the kit lens on their entry level Canon's would probably be much better served with a NEX or a M43 camera, since they'd use it twice as often.
I personally switched to an X100 and use it a loot more than my DSLR, and it takes just as good pictures. Plus there's really a distinct lack of affordable and fast 24mm lenses (35mm eqv on APS-C), my X100 cost me about half of what the 24 mm L lens cost.
