For the same reason that u4/3 cameras are left at home 62.3% of the time, and smartphones are left at home 2.8% of the time.

OTOH, while 0.54% of cell phones die because they are ropped in a toilet bowl, tthis only happens with 0.00034% of DSLR's.

There is a balance in everything.

I do have my DSLR more often with me than my mobile phone. Small things like mobiles are more prone to go missing, and it is a hassle to keep the mobiel charged all the time.
