A travel lens that beats the Tamron 18-270 PZ?

I use the Tamron all the time as a walkaround lens and really like it.

When I bought the lens, I thought that I might use it occasionally. However, I use it frequently because it's so convenient. Also, it's an excellent video lens, particular for sports. When you boil it down, there are mainly nuances that differentiate the good lenses that are produced today. A skilled photographer might notice differences but the average person would never see them. I have several images taken with the Tamron posted in my gallery. Look at the first 4 images and view them in their original size. With the recent $200 price reduction, it's a bargain.
