Legacy + Non-Legacy Lens Tests - Updated and mostly final
May 17, 2013
4
This is an updated and more comprehensive update of the 32 lens test I touched on a while back here http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/51354186
This was mostly done for my own purposes but thought that it may be useful for those interested. Since last post above, I reshot some of the images and then did brick wall shots of the lenses to get a reasonably good idea as to what they are like across the frame.
You cant really compare colours as the shots were taken outside and therefore sun angles changes with shadows in some cases.
The original comparison files are really quite big especially the wall test, so they will not fit here. Each of the comparisons use 100% crops and whilst there is always variations in lens builds this should give a pretty good idea as to what you could expect if you mount them on four thirds or micro four thirds. APS sized sensors will naturally change characteristics.

Pentax SMC 40mm f2.8 PK
Panasonic 20mm f1.7
Perhaps other lenses like kit m43 zooms, Oly 8mm Fisheye, wider angles from the 12-60mm and 7-14mm may be looked at in the future but I will have to attack them differently due to the brick wall not being large enough
The tests are split into groups being 45-60mm, 65-90mm, 100-150mm and Tele Lenses which will make it easier to add to later on.
Small samples in next post but much larger full sized images can be seen/downloaded here http://bromo.zenfolio.com/f815564555
