I bought the Sigma 28-250 for my D5200.  It was horrible, no matter the F-stop, the shutter speed, the ISO setting, there wasn't a sharp photo in the bunch.  Not in the center, or edges, no front or back focus...just a VERY consistantly bad lens.  That's one good thing about it..it was extreemly consistant at being...well...not so good.


I asked you this in the other thread - did you test the Macro, or non-macro version of the Sigma?

My 18-250 Macro can produce good images, but you have to shoot within it's limitations (like any travel zoom).  It certainly is not "consistently bad" in all configurations. It's actually quite good at nearly any aperture at 18 mm, and very good at f11 over most of the range, on my D7000.
