I knew it was too good to be true...

I've got close to 3k images on the DP2M now and this is the first real problem I've seen but it is a doozy!  I was shooting with a polarizer and hood.  Other than that iso 200 aperture priority at f8 I believe.  Where does this come from?  It looks like it might be lens flare but wow what a disaster if so.  Here are a series of images intended for a pano beginning and ending with good images with the bad images between them.

Cause? Cure? Comments?
