Great shots! I find I shoot RAW with any camera, primarily to make sure I get WB right Just remember how most of these cameras get white balance, they look at what color casts the image has and correct it to neutral.
If you are in a forest with fall foliage that is mostly warm color tones, the WB will tend to think you have a tungsten light source and cause a blue cast to the image to correct for it. I think they try to guess if you are in a special situation and know to ignore a certain color cast, but these never work all that well.
Bottom line is to get WB right you either have to set it manually before each group of shots in similar lighting conditions, use the presets like cloudy or shade, or just tweak it in RAW afterwards. So I think you are already doing what you can to get correct WB

Thanks!
Same here with raw format, I've been using it constantly since I learned about the benefits, never looked back. And those blue, cold tones drove me crazy in the past. Good thing it's easy to deal with, once you know how!
