Hello,

I am experiencing a problem when using my Di622 m.II external flash on my 650D/T4i, where the AF Assist Beam does not illuminate.

I have verified that One Shot and Center AF Point are selected, as also in the Custom Settings I have changed the AF Assist Beam settings to IR AF Assist Only, then External Flash Only, Enable and even Disable but still the AF Assist Beam doesn't fire.

In my 350D the AF Assist Beam of the Di622 works fine.

I cannot find anybody else that has experienced the same issue by searching through the net and I am hoping somebody could help me.

Do you believe that this is a compatibility issue or some setting that needs to be altered? Or  does new Canon cameras support these functions only with a Canon Speedlight?

Thank you very much.

Which AF Mode are you using?  If in AI Servo, I believe that the AF assist beam is disabled.
