Re: Nikon 35mm f/1.4 G vs. Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art

Sigma has shown the world that an ultra high quality lens can be sold for significantly less than those offered by Nikon/canon etc.

For me the Sigma 35mm f1.4 is an incredible sharp lens with beautiful color rendition. I personally think the color rendition is nicer than Nikons. I also found that it required significantly less fine tuning than my other primes Nikon 24 F1.4G ,35mm f1.8, 85mm F1.8G,50mm f1.4G

For some the bokeh   is a big deal but I don't see what all of the angst is about.

As to the weather sealing ,I don't shoot in pouring rain etc.I don't want to screw up my D800 or D7000 . You said weather sealing is important --what conditions are you planning to shoot in?. If it is really severe conditions you really should not depend on the weather sealing.
