I can understand your hesitancy to give up the EX1. It is (was) a great camera. Still use mine, though that is not because i wasn't looking around for a new one. They don't sell the EX2F here. And I want to see it and feel it before I pay the $$.
I love the feel of the EX1. And while it is heavier and larger, that really is of no concern to me as I hang it from my neck. I did replace the stock strap though, with a new Matin Vintage strap. You really don't notice that it's there.
Over the years I've used your settings and they have made a difference! For me the form and feel is just right. Now I use the OVF as I have difficulty seeing the screen in bright light, and I use a B+W CPL as I like the over saturated colours.
I see that Canon is joining a number of other makes by stuffing a large sensor into a compact body. Now if Samsung would do that into something like a EX1 body and with a longer zoom - I might jump for that. Nice to have a new toy.
Best of luck with your Canon. The pics I've seen (that you have posted) were wonderful. Just what we would expect from you.
The problem with the large sensor stuffing that canon is attempting, is that like the RX100 from sony, the lens will most likely only start at 28mm, and I really like having 24mm or wider.
