Where do you shoot?

I have the Olympus 45, and in most indoor situations it's verging on being too tight. There are very few situations in which I'd be able to use the 75mm effectively. Other people may have different needs.

To me, the 45mm feels like the obvious choice: it's half the price.

I'm a dental student, and as such I spend most of my life indoors, without sun. However, I'm transitioning into the clinical aspect of my education in July and as such I'll be taking pictures of the patient's dentition. The cubicles they cram us in to are rather small, so it seems as though the 45 is what's going to happen.

The ability to shoot something quickly definitely is a huge priority with me. It's one of the bigger reasons why I traded out my Pana/Leica 25mm for the Oly 17 f/1.8. I didn't like having to step back so much. By that reasoning, it seems like the 45 definitely has the advantage. Yet part of me can't help but wonder: If you're shooting portraits anyway, won't you be in a different state of mind for the shoot?

Thanks though. It seems as though even if the two lenses were the same price, the 45 would still be the smarter choice considering the environments I find myself in.
