Translucent or transparent perhaps, but not opaque. But anyhow, what difference would being able to see the level make? Can you visually tell the difference between say 1% and 0.5%? And even if you can, how do you know how much of that color ink will be required for the next print?

When a cartridge runs out, the printer will stop and tell you it needs another.
