I don't know the answer, definitively, they should leave the option to revert if you already have the software though.

But if I had CS6, and I wanted to try the Creative Cloud option, and if indeed you can't revert to the perpetual licence state, then I would uninstall CS6 and install the CC version, and once I got fed up of paying every month, for Adobe's gain, I would hopefully be able to get rid of the CC version, and install CS6 again.

If Adobe are blocking that scenario, then they have gone way too far, you've paid for the licence, you should be able to
