Re: Photo Quality with D7000 + Tokina ATX Pro 12-24 f4

So after much testing and review. I have come to the conclusion that my D7000 is not back focusing! What I thought was back focus issues with this lens at F4 is actually lens softness due to the nature of the lens. I have updated my Lightroom post processing to apply lens correction, sharping and contrast to some images. I also increased contrast and sharpness in camera when using this lens.

After being yelled at by my wife for spending too much time with my camera, I have also decided to enjoy the camera for what it’s worth and stop worrying about back focus issues. For what it’s worth I did send the camera to Nikon once and they made whatever adjustments that were needed so if there was a back focus issue it was probably resolved and I should have left it at that instead of trying to confirm if it was resolved and get caught in the loop of trying to find a problem.

I am posting some pics from this past weekend.

Thank to everyone who gave me the right advice. Take care,
