Read this before you buy a Fuji X.

...If you want to lug around a DSLR whilst on vacation -- be my guest.

I use a pair of Nikon DSLRs for shooting sports and business events.  But I am more than pleased to leave them at home when I travel.  Have used an X100/X10 pair (now an X100s/X20) for travel and they work wonderfully.  Recently purchased an X-Pro1 and a few lenses -- only complaint is that the lenses are larger than M-mount lenses -- but that's the price you pay for AF/focus-by-wire and lens/camera commanded aperture.  The point of comparison there is a Leica M9 kit (5 primes 18mm - 90mm) which I also use on travel.

So I see a bunch of subjective conclusions.  They are obviously 100% correct for the OP.  And that's fine.  Now...Could the OP survive photographically in a strange land with just a Leica M film camera and a single 35mm lens?
